The Midsummer's festival will be held from June 23 to June 26. It will be in similar format as last year but now we will be starting by bathing us in the dew on Thursday night. We will also be swimming in the sea if the weather allows. Then we will dance in the midnight sun. The festival is still in preparation but we have already started booking so those that are interested in staying indoors at night should contact as soon as possible. According to the Icelandic tourist board 34.333 thousand foreign tourist left Keflavík Airport in April. The number has never before exceeded above 30.000 thousand in April. This is a 40% increase since the same month last year.

Today FAB Travel is proud to announce that the office has officially been move to our new location at Strandgata.  In response to that we want to invite everyone to see the development of the house. We also want to invite those who are interested to collaborate with FAB Travel or those that are interested to learn about FAB Travel. The house will be open to everyone from 13:00 and again from 17:00. We look forward to see you.

Our collaborators at Gentle Giants introduced a new addition to their fleet last Saturday. The boat is a RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) which has been named Amma Sigga (Granny Sigga). 

The weather has been pleasant in Akureyri today and hopefully it’s only the beginning of a great summer. FAB Travel has begun working on making everything ready before the first ship arrives. 

According to an article in the newspaper mbl.is last 23 of April a new road is been open to make the access to Dettifoss much easier. The road is 25 km long and was opened last autumn.

It is estimated that increase in tourism in Iceland will be about 50% in April this year considering same month last year.

We can proudly announce that we are moving our tourist center to Strandgata 49. The house was built 1878 and then rebuilt in 1994 and then again 2007.
