Projects Ahead!

This winter, FABTravel intends to direct market its various local tour and travel services to potential customers in Reykjavik. Our headquarters in Akureyri provides us with a geographical advantage when seeking to offer the many splendid and enjoyable winter activities here in the North. We want to emphasise the benefits of getting away from that hectic city lifestyle down south, in favour of relaxing in the crisp and pristine tranquility of this northern latitude. In addition to the above,we are adding more staff and creating exciting new Icelandic packages for next spring and summer, intended to reach both domestic and international markets. So, whilst this summer might indeed have drawn to a close, we are preparing again for next year. We are not hibernating !

Vestnorden 2010...assessment and results

The Conference was not as well attended compared with previous years, and not as many Buyers appeared as expected. (A reflection, perhaps, on the current global economic situation) However, and nonetheless,FABTravel was very pleased to meet the foreign and domestic Buyers who travelled to Akureyri in a rather cold mid-September, and was keen to present its exciting projects for the coming years. We were also happy to listen to Buyers' requests and suggestions as to what THEY would like in an Icelandic holiday. Exhibitors, too, sensing the need to cooperate for the common good and mutual support of the industry, exchanged ideas and proposals concerning similar areas of interest. So,while the attendee turnout was a little disappointing at first, the net results were both surprisingly positive and encouraging ! See you all again next year!

Vestnorden Travel Conference 2010

This conference took place in Akureyri between September 15-17, and was held in both the new HOF Cultural Centre Building and a local sports hall. The intention was that Travel Buyers from all parts of Europe and North America should meet up with Icelandic Travel Exhibitors,so that the fabulous (no pun intended!) travel opportunities in Iceland should reach the largest possible audience. FABTravel was there,of course, to offer their extensive travel expertise and knowledge of the industry, and also to make known its exciting new travel packages designed to reflect the traditional Icelandic virtues of health, happiness and wellbeing!
