Magma used to create geothermal power for the first time

Iceland have found a way to use magma to create geothermal energy. In a country such as Iceland where geothermal power already makes up to one-third of energy used and around 90% oh houses heated by the same power it is really valuable.

According to Ari Phillips of Climate Progress researchers in Iceland have found a way to use magma to create geothermal energy. In a country such as Iceland where  geothermal power already makes up to one-third of energy used and around 90% oh houses heated by the same power it is really valuable.

Usually geothermal energy is generated by pumping water into geothermal areas where ground is hot and boiled in order to use stem to generate electricity. For the first time molten magma is used to create the stem instead of molten rock. Iceland Deep Drill project has already beaten the world record for the hottest geothermal heat reaching temperature over 450 degrees Celcius.
