Iceland stands up to it's name now. Snow blizzard is going over Iceland now.

Iceland stands up to it's name now. Snow blizzard is going over Iceland now.

The snow blizzard that is going over Iceland now is heavy of wind and snow. The view from houses in the capital Reykjavik is at least 10-20 meters. And in Akureyri up to 100 meter view between houses.

We are well prepared for this blizzard and we have all our buses and cars on studded tires and a really good driving skills in these conditions. So Icelanders are not scared in this weather, but if they get stuck in the snow there is always people that will stop and help you.

Let the pictures talk.

map from the Road patrol, there we can go http://www.vegagerdin.is/english/road-conditions-and-weather/the-entire-country/island1e.html and see how the road contitions are every 5 minutes. Really good system and all of the Icelandic nation use this before they head on in to the roads.

Let us know if you have any story of your own. Or tell us about the weather at your home.
