Earthquake at Geysir

Bárðarbunga volcano and Holuhraun eruption site has been in spotlight for a quite while now but in addition to that Iclandic Met Office has reported a earthquake just 10km west of Geysir in Haukadalur.

10 Earthquake sequel started on December 22nd around midnight with minor earthquakes. The largest one struck at Christmas Eve with magnitude of 3.2. During the week more than 100 earthquakes where monitored in the are. Just two days after the met office reported that seismic activity decreases in the area. 

Met office reported 40 earthquakes in the past 24th hours in Bárðarbunga with two major earthquakes being with magnitude of 4.4 and 5.3. There have been no major changes in the eruption over the last few weeks. For latest information about seismic activity in Iceland see Iclandic Met Office
